Dreaming of wobbling joints

Some dreams continue to come back. Like my dream with the knees that just doesn't cooperate.

The backstory: At the age of ten I suddenly grew much taller within a short period. It resulted in ace and insecurity. The legs didn't obey me. That and the heavy amount of dance training which I was involved in became an unlucky combination. I exercised every weekday after school (ballet, step, modern, jazz and acrobatics) but after crying at several classes I told my mother that I wanted to cut down on them. The first classes I wanted to skip was ballet. The teacher was rather mean and she always told me not to cry...

Morning trouble

So. I think the reason I got myself this phone was that I had to have a digital sketchbook... now...
Well, Autodesks' mobile tool is a pure joy, getting me back to painting like kids - with my fingers. Now I only need an iPad, a pen to go with it and lots of free time. I think I aught to be satisfied by then.

Fortes Remembers

So this is what I've been up to this summer. Remembering, getting rid of stuff and building up new stuff. Here is a collection of sketches, drawings and ideas. Some of them are really old - others fairly new. Click here and then "slide show" in Picasa to see them bigger.

Uncomfortable No. 3

This is the last entry in the embarrassing suite.
I wonder if there are any statistics explaining the frequency of "Going Around Half Naked In Public"-dreams related to the economic situation in the world . Is the amount of G.A.H.N.I.P.-dreams higher in times of economic crisis. Do we have a hole lot of earthlings trying to stretch out their awkwardly short T-shirts every night? Do we get more clothes in the G.A.H.N.I.P.-dream as the finances get more stabile. A pair of socks, leg warmers, gloves or a funny hat? In any case you can only dream of getting a pair of panties.

Uncomfortable No. 2

This is the second entry revealing the embarassment of being not so rich, not so famous, not so tidy and not so secure...
I guess we've all been there (or actually I hope I'm not the only one) - ending up at someones place for a fika or a chat. You take your shoes of just to remember that your socks are full of holes.
In my youth it was hip. I even made some extra holes just for the fun of it. But today it's not as hip because my grown up friends have difficulties understanding the eastethics of torn socks.
The sock with the hole in reveals you as being sloppy, poor or ignorant. Whatever people choose to interpret it as - it's pretty darn bad.

Uncomfortable No. 1

Being uncomfortable is a common state of being nowadays. The economic crisis has reveiled the fact that we all risk being exposed. As hoaxes, clowns, perverted idiots or just unqualified. So the dreams are coming to life. This is No. 1. Stay tuned for some more embarassement after the commercial...

You've just got to love the girl inside!

So, I'm making contact with the girls.

They're such dreamers and it's hard to get them going. So, they're the same as me: Always making big pictures, dreams and plans in the head - but on the outside it looks like nothing ever happens.

Here are some sketches. Now I have three of them ready. One is soon a finished piece and these two are next in turn.
